Way to Win Announces New Senior & Political Hires to Growing National Team
New Vice President Nicole Boucher and Deputy Political Director Kellie Dupree bring years of political strategy and partnership experience to strengthen the Way to Win team in the lead up to the 2020 cycle
San Francisco, CA - Way to Win, the all women-led home base for people, money, and ideas upending politics as usual, which moved $22 million last cycle to support key Democratic victories up and down the ticket, today announced the addition of two new strategic hires to expand their growing national team. Nicole Boucher joins as Vice President and Kellie Dupree as Deputy Political Director. Both additions will help Way to Win strengthen and create the infrastructure needed to win elections, advance transformative policy and build lasting power.
“Our growing team is more seasoned and powerful with the addition of Nicole and Kellie,” said Tory Gavito, President and Co-Founder of Way to Win. “We are showing the country the way to win by turning the non-voter to voter and giving voice to those most impacted by injustice.”
“I am thrilled to join Way to Win ahead of the most important election cycles of our lifetime,” said Nicole Boucher, Vice President of Way to Win. “Way to Win is creating progressive change to improve people’s lives on a national scale by building power throughout the diverse and multi-racial communities across America. We know the way to win - now it is all about execution.”
Boucher has an extensive background in political fundraising and will focus on overarching strategy and developing Way to Win’s growing landscape of key partnerships. Before joining Way to Win, she was Co-Executive Director of the California Donor Table, where she worked with funders, political donors, labor leaders, practitioners and state and local community leaders to invest in and support the civic engagement and electoral priorities of California’s new majority communities. As a queer, multiracial Pacific Islander, she has a deep commitment to equity and brings over 15 years of local, state and national experience in leading racial, economic and climate justice organizations. She currently serves on the boards of Groundswell Action Fund, Outdoor Afro, Asian Pacific Environmental Network (APEN), and is an advisor to Threshold Foundation’s Climate Strategies Funding Circle.
Kellie Dupree, Deputy Political Director at Way to Win, will take on a strategic role on Way to Win’s political team by aligning organizational strategy with grassroots groups and movement builders on the ground in key states throughout the country. She has built a diverse career advocating for a variety of progressive causes, including working for Planned Parenthood, USAID, the Democratic National Committee, Unity ‘09 and EMILY’s List. Most recently, she was the Director of Partnerships & Training at the Ballot Initiative Strategy Center.
“The work Way to Win leads is aligned with where I believe progressive priorities and strategies need to shift,” said Dupree. “I am proud to be a part of an organization that sees beyond just Election Day and focuses on making lasting change by building long-term power to achieve a representative and reflective democracy that works for everyone.”
Way To Win focuses on near-term goals to build long-term power and engaging in geographies such as the South and Southwest where demographic realities are opening up new possibilities. Way to Win aims to break out of the "political-industrial complex" and instead use the electoral process to bring in new voters, lift up the voices of those who have been excluded and create real democracy. The early success of Way to Win, in addition to these important hires, positions the organization to lead the country with a new donor and political strategy poised to create the progressive change that truly reflects America's diversity and values in 2020 and beyond.
